Standardization is always a consideration. But so is trying to make improvements to improve the playing experience. It is fair to say that dice-on-checkers has gotten a lot of attention and represents a divergence. But allowing play with one set of dice without a clock is also unique to the USBGF rule set, another non-trivial change and also a divergence. Yet almost everyone likes that addition. So we will cross the standardization bridge when we come to it after gaining some substantial playing experience with the new rules (if adopted) so that we will know what works well and what doesn't. That will inform any future discussions with other federations, as well as future updates to these rules.
