"validly claim" is undefined.

"A player automatically loses the match when it is noticed that their reserve time has expired, unless they may validly claim the game and match at that moment."

I don't understand the need for the last clause. Why not just:

"A player automatically loses the match when it is noticed that their reserve time has expired." (Or even, "A player loses the match when their reserve time expires.")

Are the rules anticipating a situation where a match ends, players shake hands, then somebody looks down and notices that the winner's clock has expired?
