Thanks for pulling this together. We certainly intend to complete this survey, but felt it to be a case of cart before the horse to do so before actually knowing if the rules will be ratified by the members, and therefore whether use of the rules would even be required on the ABT.

As I recall, directors have the option to make baffle boxes Preference over cups. Therefore, a director doing so is not in conflict with the Rules.

I should also mention regarding picture taking in Clocks Preference events, that there may be an opt-out added for this rule. There was a misunderstanding during the earlier discussions with the directors on this rule that unfortunately did not become apparent until too late, and the rule likely would not have been included had their concerns been correctly understood prior to the vote. We've all been discussing this offline since this became apparent. The Rules Committee supports retracting this rule in the 2019 revision and therefore, also supports providing an opt-out for 2018. Final decision on this opt-out recommendation awaits ratification of the Rules and a vote on the matter at the next USBGF Board meeting.
