I'm sure the rather wild looking bar/23 8/4* is correct here. At least you will have a few opponent numbers 2-3, 2-6, 3-6, 2-2, 3-3 and 6-6 that will give you a chance to turn the tables.
You are correct; the five-blot play is better than the one-blot play. Our poor opponents (Senk + Sherman) fanned with 22. Harvey and I eventually won a redoubled gammon.
I could only find:
Kit Woolsey and Ken Arnold (3.77) - Nack Ballard and Harvey Huie (2.32) 21pt Pro-Am Doubles Las Vegas 2001 SF 1350440814 in the database. I'd love to include more matches if you have some to share! :-)
That match must have been from an earlier round of the same event -- based on the match length probably the semis, and I didn't know (remember?) it was recorded. I guess there was a hand-transcriber in the crowd.
Unless there was a lot of money on the line, I always hated my matches being recorded (though perhaps a few were done without my knowledge). The main problem wasn't logistics, it was that the opponent always played slower to much slower. My main strategy was to play quickly, jack up the cube, end the match and jump into the deuce chouette! (This is much less of an issue today because clocks are used in most events.) Anyway, sorry, I don't have and never did have any matches.
Good luck,
Nack
