Splitting to the bar point exposes a triple shot while 8/7 is needlessly safe. If I were to play 24/18 I'd follow with 6/5.

13/7 unstacks and brings a tenth checker into the zone to aim at the lone runner. Splitting to the 23 is thematic in that white has escaped one runner so blue should get his moving or at least try to anchor.

So 24/23 13/7 is clearly better from my perspective due to the above.

However, QF makes it clear that 24/18 8/7 must be better. (c:
