Stick: Is it just being so far above and beyond the rest of your competitors both present and past that you stand out as in a league of your own?

CMC: This is it. The other intangible stuff is just irrelevant noise, IMO. EG. I don't give a shit that Tiger had a Thai mum and an Afro-american dad, giving him some appeal in regions of the world which weren't into golf pre-Tiger.

To me it's about whose career and track record is hardest to achieve/emulate.

I know Jordan is big in the US which is why I threw him in the mix but in my opinion what Federer has achieved is so much more difficult to achieve that he is the GOAT in all of sports. Phelps also has to be in the discussion with all his olympic medals.
