After the inferior play posted on the right Blue is free to make any point his dice desire without an pressure or compensation from White in doing so. Bar point, five point, four point, any point is a good point!
After the superior play posted on the left Blue is forced to deal with our blot on his 7pt or face the consequences of allowing us to anchor up with a six next turn or run the man to safety with many other numbers. This is the major difference. A distraction play of sorts, an action play you might call it. Forcing the action while we have the stronger board, welcoming an exchange of hits.
