The narrowing of the difference and possible flip-flop of the correct play may come down not to some strategic principle, but instead to the way specific rolls work for your opponent when we compare the plays. Here are some examples:

41: in the 10 point case, he will double hit inside if you minor-split, but it's kind of a whiff if you split to the bar. In the 11 point case, 41 points on the bar point. Now it's bad either way.

64, 44 and 22: In the 10 point case they favored the split to the bar, but in the 11 point case they are pretty bad for you after either play because he can now use these rolls to attack you there.

54: He now has the opportunity to make a double hit after you split to the bar, where before the roll was a whiff.

66: Yeah it's bad both ways, but in the 11 point case it's exceptionally bad in the bar point split case, because it gives him a solid four point block and puts you on the bar.

I am not seeing anything comparable going the other way. Especially, I'm not seeing any rolls where a whiff roll with the 11 point is good with the 10 point.

There may be more details to add, but the net effect of these examples is clear. The harder parts while playing, here and in many cases, are 1) Seeing the difference fast enough OtB if you know one reference position but not the other, and 2) Getting it right whether the difference swings the play, or instead leaves the same play correct while narrowing the difference between them.
