BG Buddy and Illegal Moves

This situation arose, of course, because of a tentative move that was put back incorrectly.

Is ours the only game where such plays are allowed in tournaments? I wouldn't be surprised. We don't allow written calculations (which cannot lead to illegal moves) yet allow tentative plays. It's a bit inconsistent.
