Touching an offered cube

No! To take a double you should pick up the cube and place it on your own side of the board. But if you want to pass a double, you shouldn't touch the cube at all. Rather, you should:
- Stop the game clock.
- Say "I pass."
- Confirm the value of the game with your opponent (which is easy because the offered cube hasn't been touched).
- Write down the new match score.
- Set up for the next game. (Now you can touch the cube.)
Touching the cube when you intend to pass is a bad idea that can only lead to problems.
