Midgame cube action

Calculating GWC as a % is not rocket science nor is it an exact science its a very rough estimation. I struggled to get my head around your post. I made no reference to my way of arriving at 68% , even today it surprises me how often I am on the ball. I certainly dont consider a 5% error shoddy. The fact that this position is on a knife edge makes things tricky. The system has great value over and above the cube feature, in that at a glance one is aware of the weakness and strengths of a position. This of course makes the best play easier to find.
I have always been suspicious regarding the limited learning curve of "RO & VARIANTS" and the understanding they may produce. Its a bit of a cheat to produce the status of a position courtesy of XG. If one does not understand the start position subsequent plays which obviously do something have no real meaning surley?
I play very little BG hence collecting data to test the theory was problematic. I would drop in and record online matches. Often people would not terminate the game so it would not save. It never was going to be a finished product. The idea was that others would contribute and fine tune it. BG players live in a strange world they prefer to take the long learning course of experience.
On a lighter note many years ago I talked my wife into playing online. One day a 44 was played badly. I went over the top and berated her so, that she told me were to put the board, sadly its still there.
