It seems Phil talks about something similar to darts. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professional_Darts_Corporation The thing is in backgammon we don't have a ranking based on results. We have Bmab ranking but who can say they are really the best players ? If you give a wrong double and opponent pass you will be punished by XG analysis but you gained enough in MWC. So I can see something like this happening only if some other format will be played, I think also XG needs to be improved.
