BG player who owns some Great Clips stores

We had a newcomer at our club on Monday who got introduced to the game on a plane trip eight weeks ago. He sat next to a woman who said that her husband is a high level backgammon player. She told him enough about the game to get him so interested that he has been studying very hard for the last eight weeks. This guy has learned an impressive amount of concepts on his own, relative the short time frame. Apparently the couple owns quite a number of Great Clips franchise stores. Anyone know who this is?
