To be prosecuted while not guilty must be one of the worst things possible. It happened to a Dutch checkers player a few years back (also a murder case), but (1) Netherlands, (2) less press, (3) much faster process, (4) guilty person was caught and sentenced, so he was rehabilitated quickly and can play.

It seems to me that the BG angle is to show the ability to take calculated risks in a cold-blooded manner.
