Ah yesssss, it all makes sense now, thank you very much. A backgammon for blue gives blue an additional 12% in match equity over a gammon, while a gammon gives and additional 1% more in match equity than a single win. A very interesting result! At odd away post crawford, a small gain in backgammons has a large effect on equity. So a 12 to 1 factor explains why .19 backgammons can be worth 1.27 gammons.

I feel like I have fought for and gained a valuable insight. I will play doublets a little differently now in the bearoff when trailing odd away crawford.! Thank you so much!
