Surely there would be players who would refuse to play unless he was banned. That has already happened actually.

Yup. At this point I would not attend any event where he was welcome. Now, if some new information comes out in the trials that clearly indicates he didn't do it, I'll change my mind.

Note that "trials" is plural. If he's found not guilty in the criminal trial he still faces a civil trial where the burden of proof is 51% rather than the much more stringent ~99% necessary for a criminal trial. Note that science typically accepts evidence at the 95% confidence level, while a criminal trial requires proof "beyond a reasonable doubt" or about 99%. So, it's entirely possible for the jury to find it 97% likely that he did it and still acquit.

Suppose the TD does ban him. There is often language about entrees possibly being refused. For example for the upcoming LA tournament: "We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone, whether to play or to observe." Just because it says that though does it mean it can legally be done? Is there recourse for a player who was refused?

IANAL, but since tournaments are privately run, in general the organizers can ban anyone for just about an reason. Unless the banned individual can show discrimination based on "protected class" status there's not much legal recourse. Maybe the USBF or the ABT has language about criteria for banning (I haven't looked) and it could be appealed to them as the sanctioning org.

Otherwise, the banned individual is SOL.
