Domino Bluff Gammon--a high-skill variation

Take a set of dominoes and remove the pieces with blanks. Turn all the remaining dominoes face down.

Instead of rolling the dice, players draw dominoes. (Players draw to see who goes first.)

When you draw a domino, you get to look at it but now show your opponent, and at that time, you can choose to double if you want to. That is where the bluff comes in.

After the cube action, or no cube action, the player shows his domino and moves.

After the move the domino goes into a discard pile, face up, so that the players can see which dominos are gone and can figure out what is left. After the last domino is drawn, all the dominoes are turned face down and you keep going.

Two variations: first, play with two doubling cubes, but you can only double or redouble one at a time.

Second, instead of the used dominos face up, put them face down so you have to remember what is played.
