Alright, here's my last word.

I agree that it's fun to see old friends at tournaments. However, I have never used that to determine whether I should go to a tournament. But as I mentioned, I *have* used the strength of the field to make the decision.

Right now I'm waffling on the upcoming New York tournament, and it's heading towards NO. If I found out that it was all noobs in the Open, I'd immediately book my tickets. Meanwhile, there is no group of old friends who, if they announced their intention to play New York, would cause me to definitely book my tickets.

So you're telling me then in my example you'd rather go to that tournament than your typical ABT event?

Yes.

People say things they don't mean every day until you force them stop and think about them. I won't go as far as insulting you and call you 'people' but you shouldn't claim something you have no reason to claim either.

This isn't something I threw out off the cuff. I've thought about this many times before, and stand by everything I say.
