24/20 invites an avalanche of checkers to rain down on blue's head.

The nine point isn't doing much other than maybe being useful if white steps up to the three, or for filling in the seven point. So, I'll break that.

Then it's a choice of playing the other nine-point checker, hitting loose, stacking on the four, or burying a checker on the ace.

With that avalanche of checkers aimed at the runners a tempo hit is thematic. No idea if it's right, but at least it's thematic.
