I used to fire up Jellyfish 3.0 (not 3.5!) for various reasons, including that it sometimes understood a complex position better than Snowie did (as demonstrated by rollouts after specific plays) and so made a good second-opinion bot even though you had to do the cubeful portion of the analysis by hand.

But with anything further along than Windows XP, you can't run the Fishie. It's not because of lack of a diskette drive, because I have an external one, but because it just won't load or run on these later systems.

I've read the posts about GNU, and though I haven't used it for a while now, I still salute its developers and those who keep it up and going. And for those who still use it, rock on!
