Congratulations to Lynn Ehrlich, Jeb Horton, and all the great NY Metro staff on a fantastic event! Julian Minwalla won the Liberty Cup Masters and Kimon Papachristopoulos won the Championship event -- international winners fitting for the home of the United Nations! See http://usbgf.org/11th-new-york-metropolitan-backgammon-open/ for a listing of winners. It was a record turnout with 213 entrants overall and 47 in the Beginners/Advanced Beginners! Each year it gets better and better -- with great streaming by Voice of Backgammon, a beautiful backdrop banner with the growing number of USBGF corporate sponsors, and successful Beat the Pro event where players got the thrill of playing -- and yes, occasionally, winning against #1 Giant of Backgammon Mochy Mochizuki.
