White is Player 2
score: 0
pip: 160Unlimited Game
Jacoby Beaverpip: 161
score: 0
Blue is Player 1XGID=--aAbaD-C-a-aE---a-bccAA--:0:0:1:00:0:0:3:0:10 White played last (Blue on roll)
The challenge is:
Determine if the above position can be reached (from the standard opening position) by perfect checker play on both sides, and also perfect cube action (i.e., neither side ever had a proper double). Or, if it is impossible to reach by perfect play, prove it.
To save time, perfect play is adjudicated by XGR++ evaluation. (Alternatively, you may submit a set of minimum-1k rollouts extended to 100% confidence -- for all plays ++ evaluated within .05 of best -- but it's all or nothing, no mixing of evaluations and rollouts.)
I will give $100 to the first person that I deem to have posted a legitimate solution that is fewer than 40 rolls (total) or that proves impossibility. An additional $100 will be awarded if that solution, en route, reaches a position where one side occupies five three-checker points.
To qualify for this prize (or both prizes), you must also have posted opinion(s) for the same position posed as a Checker-play problem. Offer expires one month from now.
Good luck!
