Do players generally play a lower PR ("better") online or live?

Recently, I have started taping and transcribing my live play. Additionally, I always run my matches on Gridgammon through XG to see how I played. Before taping and transcribing, I always assumed that one's typical PR online would be lower than live -- mainly because of the availability of the pip-count and maybe because there's not really any stake (aside from rating points... lol) to make you feel pressure.

I have found that my assumption was pretty much opposite that after a small sample, to the tune of about two points better than my long-term average (starting in August when I got my new laptop).

Is this typical? I was talking to another player that said most play better live b/c the stake's existence makes one play more deliberately, whereas online it's easy to get sloppy/play fast/while multi-tasking.
