Any event organized or run by a casino can run no profit or even add money because of the expected play in the casino.

In the case of the Aussie event the organizer and promoter is Ralph Vird, and he is doing this for the love of the game. He will take all the risks and absorb any losses and not make a dome with all money going to staff and expenses and possibky some to a charity.
