International Tournaments worth going to

Watching the games at Monte Carlo has made me very keen to go to a few international tournaments. I have heard that Monte Carlo has become progressively worse over the years. Is this still true? I've also heard that the Nordic Open and Japan Open is good. Which other tournaments are well run and have decent prize money?
