Criss-Cross Count

Yesterday, I received an e-mail from Maxim Glaezer. I'll share the beginning:

Dear Nack,

I have been playing with the [colorless count + half crossover count] combo recently and came up with a method that tends to use math on single digit numbers most of the time.

Checking for the same ideas and seeing the Coconut count, I saw the same origins, and decided to share the criss-cross method with you.

"Max" went on to provide a link and a couple of supplemental explanations.

People have sent me pipcount systems before (having noticed that I've created a few myself), and to be honest I've been mostly unimpressed. By contrast, this one is truly excellent!

I wrote Max back with a few minor suggestions on how he might explain it more clearly, which I am happy to see he has already implemented. He is hoping soon to have time to do a few revisions on his video as well.
