Some WSOP Recapping

Event #6, Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better, buyin = $1500
When I came across interesting hands, or hands I was unsure of what to do, I tried to text myself afterwards. Sometimes I did better than others of keeping accurate notes. I'm sure I was thinking "how can I forget this hand" and didn't text all the details I should have.
- First hand I noted I'm dealt: 9TJQ double suited (DS)
Flop: AT8 with two of one of my suits.
This was early in the tourney, it was limped preflop, and I remmeber the turn missed me. That's all I got lol. I believe I hit on the river.
- Second hand I noted I'm dealt: 55TJ double suited and am one of the blinds
Flop: 26T two diamonds (one of my suits) flops
No clue what happened the rest of this hand either. I think I should lead out the betting there though, and hope I did.
- Third hand: The blinds are now 50/100 a little more into the tournament. Probably a few levels (hours) in. A woman raised from UTG (full table) and I pick up AKJ5 with the nut spades. Question is, should I even call this raise or let it go? For money I think I call, but tournament chips are not money, and they aren't to be tossed about so easily.
I ended up calling, which I believe is wrong. The flop comes down AJ6 and she leads out, what now? UTG woman raiser (if you don't agree that in limit tournaments women are typically tighter than men, you can eat my ass -- I'm allowed that stereotype esp. when it's true). She led out, I decided to just call since there are two lows and even if I do have the best high hand she'll have a low draw and won't be able to push her off the hand just yet.
The turn comes the 9 of spades putting two spades on the board. This makes me top two pair, the nut flush draw, no low draw but no low for her either. She bets out again. What now? I struggled over this and believe I made another bad decision. I put her on AA but I couldn't fight off raising, so I raised. She 3 bets me and of course I have to call now. The river is a scare card of the straight sort, no flush for me, so we check it down and I get to see how poorly I played the hand when she shows me AAXX.
- Fourth hand: 23TK double suited from the small blind, raised preflop by the same woman who ended up having aces 89 times, and they held up 88 of those times. I believe I folded preflop.
- Fifth hand: Still day one but getting on in the day. I pick up 24KK UTG with two spades. I decided to limp and someone from MP raised. There were a couple of cold callers. Flop comes down 389 with two spades.
- Sixth hand: Almost at the end of day one a particularly aggravating hand. I raise from EP with AJTT and someone behind me makes it 3 bets to go. We're heads up to the flop and it comes down JKK. Blinds were 300/500 with bets being 500/1000. I had a slightly above average stack but nothing to be flinging chips around with.
I checked, he bet. I can't even decide if that's a good flop for me or not. I decide to call the flop bet and hope this scares them into checking the turn. The turn comes an ace, I check again and he bets. WTH!? Was that the case ace? Maybe they 3 bet on something else? I check and they bet again and I'm lost - I folded after much thought but could have been wrong.
- Seventh hand: My chip stack had dwindled a lot from midday. I was forced the hand before to raise early position to try to steal some chips with some ugly A88 hand. Someone asked me if I wanted a caller afterwards and I told them "No, I had A88X." My stack was still significantly low enough to press any hand where I might be able to pick up the blinds. The blinds are still 300/500 with 500/1000 bets. I am UTG and pick up another amusing 88 hand. This time it's better, A288 double suited, diamonds & hearts.
I raise and at this point want a caller hoping my hand will stand up. Well, I get two cold callers and both blinds call!? More action than I'd seen all day in one pot. The flop comes a fuckin' miracle, 48Q with two diamonds!!! I lead out, first person raises me, the other 3 players cold call the bet+raise and it gets back to me. What the hell are these ppl playing? I have the nuts, with a draw to the low nuts, with a draw to the flush nuts, with nuts for my backup!? Needless to say I 3 bet and all call.
The turn is the 5h which makes me nut low with the nut flush draw and trip 8s. I only have 700 left unfortunately but have got so much action on my hand I can't complain. I lead out, 2nd person raises again, 3rd person cold calls, 4th person reraises!? JFC..among the sickest of hands I've ever seen. I'm never one to show ppl my hand, whether I'm all in or not, but I couldn't help but flash the guy beside me who was out of the pot my hand, since I knew I'd be turning it over. His eyes went buggy.
River was the 9 of diamonds, making me the nut flush with the nut low. I raped that hand and it was a nice lead in to day two.
Stick ... I'll do more recapping tomorrow.
