I'm going to Cleveland...here's why

Every year around this time I go to Cleveland for one of my favorite tournaments in the world. This year it is March 22-24, but I always get there on the 21st for the pre-tournament. Every year I run the Calcutta and do a free, fun lecture and/or competition, but that’s not the only thing that makes this special.

It’s double elimination, so if you have a few bad rolls and lose in the first round, you are still able to win the tournament. The location is close to the airport, the hotel (Marriott Courtyard) is comfortable and affordable, and there is a reason it is always called “the people-friendly” tournament. It’s much more low key and all about having fun and there’s time for socializing, chouettes, and sightseeing.

Every Saturday night a bunch of us go to one of my favorite gourmet restaurants in the world, but it costs only a little more than your average restaurant in Chicago.

This is a tournament I never miss, and if you come, you will see why.
