In Response To: 42 to play vs. a 1/2 backgame (John O'Hagan)

I just make the 4p. If he hits, then he no longer has a backgame and I will have many returns from the bar.

If he doesn't hit, then he's stuck in a poorly timed 12 backgame.

We will need the 4p in all variations, so why not make it now and develop the spares on the 6 in the process.
