When the play came up the commentators were talking about other things and MCG made the play instantly so there was no discussion. While it's true that any hit + fan results in DP the cube is wildly inefficient AtS whereas for money a hit + fan is about the most efficient cube one can find. Even for money the straight blitz is only correct by ~.020.
