I'm sure that this is the case. In my earlier years, I sometimes did this. Eventually I realized that such an attitude is stupid. One cannot improve without being honest.

Also, this way, when you read my analysis, you know that it hasn't been contaminated by "selection bias" (which is what happens if you write down your honest thoughts before checking a bot, but then choose not to post if it leads to the wrong answer). In the cases when I manage to correctly identify and assess the relevant aspects of the position, readers may safely conclude that it's possible to arrive at the answer without bot assistance. (Well, except there's still QF to contend with, but that's unavoidable.) I assume that people find this sort of thing more valuable than a "just so story" that is made up after the fact to sycophantically "explain" the bot play.

As for the position, I did consider the double hit very briefly, but rejected it so quickly that I didn't bother to say so. Nice position!
