Are holding games less common?

Are holding games less common then years ago? Back around 1998-2000 when I was learning, it seemed that bar or 5 point holding games were extremely common. Like all the time! lol

Now, I don't know if it's just I don't pay attention to game type, but it feels far less usual to get a holding game cube or checker play decision.

I wonder if due to effects of bot analysis on blitzes or fighting more aggressively to prevent anchors, this might actually be true, and not my imagination?
