Which is more valuable in basketball: 1 assist or 1 rebound?

I guess the value of an assist is 2,x points (since some of the shots will be for 2 points and some will be for 3 points).

I don't know how often an offensive rebound leads to a bucket and how how often a defensive rebound leads to a bucket in the other end of the court. Without knowing this, I am guessing that a rebound might swing more than 2,x points since it might be the difference between the opponents scoring and your own team scoring. What do you think?
