Kazaross-Sax Undefeated Bracket Final -- Oh So Close, We've All Been There

Game 11 of this great match with Neil (blue) leading Steve (white) 8-7/11.

Steve, at 4-away, 3-away, gives the early game gammonish cube. Neil takes. A number of players question the take but Neil, correctly according to rollouts, says it is a snap take.


Match to 11, Blue leads 8 to 7

Neil ends up with both on the bar, never moving another checker. Steve cannot ever close out the five point but Neil can never get them both in.

We reach this position. Neil is very close to being toast for the match. Steve rolls a 4-5 giving Neil hope.

Not only does he save the gammon, he wins the game. And goes on to win the match.
