In this Olympic period, I give you the opportunity to participate in a competition, which in the spirit of Baron de Coubertin, would bring together many people as possible, and a maximum of nations around our favourite game : Backgammon. I will give to its outcome, 3 symbolic medals to those nations that have been represented by their players finalists.

I suggest that we start the tourney Wednesday, August 13, 12:00 PDT, 19:00 GMT, 21:00 CEST, 03:00 Thursday morning in Beijing.

The venue will not be beijing but on Fibs, the site is completely free for access and availabe from Mac and Windows.

I chose a quick format : 1Pt with double elimination because I hope many players. Do not disappoint me ;-)

Do not worry, this is not really serious, but don't you think it could be fun ? As I proposed an exhibition match (Kit Woolsey vs Paul Money) earlier this year which attracted no fewer than 80 people, I hope you draw this time at the very heart of competition for the pleasure of all.

You have different softwares to connect to the server. For Mac and Windows. http://www.fibs.com/connecting.html#windows http://www.fibs.com/connecting.html#mac

My Favorite is JavaFIBS (works on Mac and Windows) All information here http://www.fibs.com/javafibs/

To subscribe do what is mention below before the start of the tourney. First register to Fibs http://www.fibs.com/javafibs/register.html. It's free. No installation required. Just download the software (or just use the applet at the website), unzip it, and execute one of the files .jar at the root. Then when connected to Fibs type the command "TELL TOURNEYBOT REGISTER 2556"

If any problem contact me : Tomawaky@gmail.com

(I have one interrogation about registering. I do not know if you can register with low experience. In this case I will find another way to host the tournament)
