Interesting Game and, Ultimately, Cube Decision

Okay, I was about to be gammoned and fall into a very deep hole against Steve Brown in the Madison Badger classic. The game, at its worst, looked like this:
Bill (white) vs Steve (blue)

I make a six point prime from 4 through 9 and start working for the second checker. Took me about 10 or 12 tries but I finally got the unprotected second checker. (It was a 146 move game.)
I finally closed Steve out -- after he anchored once. But I was able to flush him out on a trap play.
So, when do you recube? I did it perhaps a bit early -- at the position below -- but it worked out for 4 points and a 6-5 lead. I felt being down 2-5/11 made it worthwhile to try and steal the 4 points. I'm about a 66.5% favorite.
