What's your opinion on the $700bn bill?

I live in Europe and not in the USA, but I can tell you that the financial crisis and the proposed $700bn rescue plan is the biggest news over here as well. However, we mostly hear about what goes on in congress and we all know that politicians usually have a lot of more or less non-related concerns to ponder about when deciding on how to vote, after all they are politicians. Since there are mostly Americans in here I thought I'd ask: What is the opinion at the grass-root level? Have there been any polls? If something similar had been proposed over in my country I know for sure what my sentiments towards it would be...
