3/2 ply wins here by 2.3 JSDs.
So far we have:
0/2 ply vs. 0/3 ply, 0/2 ply wins
2/2 ply vs. 3/3 ply, 3/3 ply wins
2/2 ply vs. 3/2 ply, 3/2 ply winsSo it would seem that 3/2 ply is the best of all. But 3/3 ply may be better. Daniel raised the question as to whether 3 ply plays the opening one or two rolls better than 2 ply, and it might, but I've been using 3/2 ply to analyze some of my games for awhile and IMO it doesn't seem to play them any better than 2 ply did. That is something to consider, though.
