OT: Laptop Suggestions

Given the great PC purchase info offered here in the past, I'd like to solicit laptop recommendations.

My major purchase decisions are: 1) Price/performance; 2) Major vendor, as any hardware support will be remote; 3) Low storage requirements: I'm too remote to do anything with video files.
