INTERIM STATEMENT
BELL AND GUEDJ QUIT WSOB
Following several weeks speculation and fruitless discussions with WSOB majority shareholder Partouche Interactive; WSOB creators and producers, Andy Bell and Eric Guedj, have quit World Series of Backgammon Enterprises Limited.
Bell and Guedj had hoped to persuade Partouche to accept a management buyout since a Board Room disagreement on the strategy for WSOB on tour, onscreen and online, which began in October last year, which has since prevented the planned announcement for 2009 tour dates.
WSOB comentator Gus Hansen has since declined to sign a new contract.
Likewise, a proposed and in principle agreed contract with the Danish Backgammon Federation for the Nordic Open to continue as a WSOB event.
Partouche Interactive have not yet announced what their plans are for WSOB but are expected to announce television broadcast dates for the current series and a new tour format in due course.
Bell and Guedj are also considering their options and will make an announcement in due course about a possible new live televised tour.

So many questions now. Note that this is the World Series of backgammon facebook page and it gives as contact two people who just quit WSOB and also gives an announcement of their now competing plans. So it seems to be Andy Bell's and Eric Guedj's facebook page and not Partouche's. Bell and Guedj are creators but the article talks of Partouche continuing with WSOB events on their own. Who actually now is the WSOB???
