Openings - memory techniques

All the openings and responses and GS/GG/DMP/Cubeless moves are a big jumble for me.
Any memory techniques for any single move or group of moves would be appreciated.
For instance, never split against 64P.
Or always slot uncomfortable 1's against 65R.
(BTW, I'm not sure if the examples above are correct.)
