Fix and Recreation for IE Browser Problem

It looks like I managed to fix it and I can recreate the problem at will. I don't know if this happens with FireFox, or what to do if it did, but this seems to work with IE.

Fix...

Close IE

Go to C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Cookies

Search for all files containing the string bgonline. Delete them.

Open IE

Go to bgonline.org (main page)

Click on Forums

Click on Set Preferences

Reenter and save your preferences.

Done. You should be able to exit and reenter and everything should be remembered.

The problem seems to be related to confusion between "www.bgonline.org/forums" and "bgonline.org/forums" and where it looks for the cookies. Not sure exactly.

Recreation...

(Once everything is working) In address bar enter "bgonline.org/forums"

You are now back in browser hell.

Close and open IE, go back to bgonline.org main page. Click through to Forums, and the problem remains. No way out. You can reenter and save your preferences and they don't stick.

Reapply fix as instructed above.

To avoid having to click through from main page, bookmark the forums page once there and use the bookmark.
