OTB vs. Online: Craven vs. Bold?

I just looked at Bill's prime vs. prime series. I thought most of the problems were pretty obvious on the computer screen, but I certainly understand that OTB in a big tournament there is a tendency to play conservatively. I feel strongly that I play more cravenly in a tournament context than I do onscreen, and I have observed opponents making more chicken plays in tournaments than I would expect online. I play on the computer more than I play live.

Do others think my observation is accurate? And if so, how to combat this pernicious tendency? Is it simply a matter of playing live more often or is there something more subtle going on?
