BGBlitz 2.2.4 is online

Dear Backgammon afficionados,

I just uploaded BGBlitz 2.2.4 (http://www.bgblitz.com), a free update for all users.

Unfortunately a nasty bug in the tutor, that could lead to a freeze slipped through the beta tests. The funny thing is, the bug existed since the very beginnig of the tutor and only the changed timing made him visible. Sorry for any inconvenience.

When I published the last release I asked whether someone with more than two CPU cores could check how fast BGBlitz runs on such a computer. Michael Wong and Kirk McElhearn send me their data. On a Mac Pro with two 3 GHz Xeon (4 cores) evaluates BGBlitz up to 180,000 positions per second. The BGBlitz-MIPS dialogbox was therefore adapted to support Quad-CPUs. I'm curious when the first computer with 8 cores will be available. Probably I don't have to wait that long...

For money games you can adjust at "Miscellaneous Settings" whether the money score should be saved at program termination.

A few smaller improvements and bug-fixes are included too.

I hope you enjoy. As always is feedback appreciated.

ciao Frank
