Hedging

I find myself somewhat annoyed by remarks that I get about hedging. I made it to the semifinals of the limited jackpot in Vegas and didn't hedge. Why? Some time ago, I decided I'm done with hedging. It's a personal decision -- I've got a lot of reasons. Some are dumb, some are not so dumb... who cares... it's my business. I lost that match, and walked away with nothing. I'm very disappointed to lose, but I knew what I was doing. I'm going to do the same thing next time.

What I don't get is that when I don't hedge and I lose, everybody tells me, "Bummer... you should have hedged." But if somebody hedges and wins, nobody EVER says, "Nice win, but you shouldn't have hedged."
