round robin format at Portuguese Open

From their brochure "In each division, players will be placed randomly in different groups, playing a Round-Robin format. The best of each group advance to the final round (money rounds)."

Suppose a player has lost twice already and has no chance to advance. There seems to be no monetary incentive for that player to win. Will there be some who wouldn't even show up for the remaining matches? Even worse there could be an incentive for the opponent to win.

Also, what about ties? How will they be broken?
