This is an action situation so 4 ply may do a better job than 2 ply at "seeing" what is going on down the road. I find that if I don't really believe 2 ply and then I run 4 ply (won't usually take super long on your fast comps) and the result with 4 ply is moves one direction away from 2 ply, that the rollout usually moves the same way.

ie.. if 4 ply says hitting is more clear than 2 ply, the rollout likely will confirm that.

Re: ER's.. to get a real ER one also has to look at and often rollout close plays where one made the 2 ply correct choice and especially if it is from a position type where GNU is known to be a bit less than perfect.
