This puts me in mind of a conversation I overheard in Monte Carlo a few years ago. I think it was a Dane talking to a German. They were speaking in English. I don't know who they were. All they were talking about was real high-stakes gambling. Mostly it was about poker. They were each bragging about five- and six-figure poker wins. Then one of them told a story about trying to shark an American guy at bg.

"So he comes up to me and says, 'Hi, I'm David.' He's an American guy, I don't know who he is, so I ask him if he wants to play. I think he must be a fish! He says sure. I say how much? He says what do you want to play for? I say what about 100 Euro a point? So we are playing and he just keeps winning. I think he must be getting lucky. So I keep playing him like a cunt and after a few hours he wins about 50 points and I quit. Then later I find out he's David fucking Wells!"
