I'm not sure how many of you receive this but this month's issue has an article by "our own" Iancho Hristov. [I would be happy to post it here if anyone is interested let me know]

In this issue there's also an analogy about how much baseball & backgammon are alike vis-a-vis luck v. skill question. I think this is a pretty weak analogy ... any thoughts? The author says:

Baseball is full of random elements like bg. Does the pitch clip the corner of the strike zone or just miss it? Is the ball fair or foul? Is the wind blowing in or out? Does a player get injured? ... etc...

CJC also included a photo of me playing Alan Gold @ Michigan this year. In the photo I had just rolled and my dice are cocked! The one picture of me and I can't even roll properly =)
