The surface is better because it is synthethic, but it doesn't look it, and if you spill coffee on it, you can wipe it up with a wet cloth with no damage. The board is a perfect copy of the "usual" Taki board, but not all all comparable to the $2,000 one being sold on line, which is a special-made board, with very special checkers and bag.

I have one of these new boards Chiva is talking about, and it truly is beautiful and very well made. I will bring it to Madison.
